Legislative Internship
|
Legislative interns with Ohio Right to Life (ORTL) will have the opportunity to see the legislative process in action, learn where Ohio has already made ground on the issue of abortion, learn what can be done to get involved, and help others get involved. Ohio Right to Life follows legislation on life issues in both the State Legislature and in the United States Congress. We participate in the debate of public policy to the extent that we are able to, or invited to give input (i.e. at committee hearings or in written correspondence with elected officials). We also evaluate the consequences; intended or unintended, of legislation that discourages women or physicians from choosing life. We believe that it is important for members of the public to actively participate in lobbying our elected officials to protect innocent life. Interns will also have the chance to learn different talking points on life issues and should feel comfortable in sharing ORTL’s mission with a variety of audiences throughout the internship. All applicants must be college students, and Political Science majors are encouraged to apply for this specific internship. Interns must also provide their own transportation and are encouraged, but not required, to provide their own laptops while working in the office. Opportunities for interns in our legislative program include:
All interested applicants should submit their resume and a cover letter by email to Stephanie Krider, Director of Legislative Affairs, at skrider@ohiolife.org. Please put “Legislative Internship” in the subject line. |
